PayByPhone now available in Whistler

PayByPhone parking is available at Day Lots 1, 2, and 3 operated by The Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW). When paying by cell phone, motorists may also opt to receive a text message reminder a few minutes before their time expires. They can then add more time to their parking session if required, greatly reducing the chance of a parking violation.

“We investigated anumber of options to enhance the arrival experience of guests using the Day Lots,” said Sandra Smith, Supervisor of Bylaw Services for the RMOW. “Introducing the PayByPhone option allows resort guests to conveniently pay for parking and to add additional parking time without returning to their cars, so they can spend their time enjoying recreational activities on Whistler and Blackcomb mountains and in Whistler Village.”

To sign upfor a free PayByPhone account, drivers must first register their cell phone number, license plate, and Visa, MasterCard, or AMEX number by visiting paybyphone.com or by calling 604-905-5559 from the parking lot (a parking transaction can be started from the initial sign-up call). These details are encrypted and the account is protected by a PIN of their choice. A history of transactions is thenviewable any time the user logs into their account at paybyphone.com.
