PayByPhone welcomes the City of Tampa to its roster

The City of Tampa has added PayByPhone, a global leader in mobility parking payments, to service its parking operations from July 20th, 2022. The service will be available across the City’s on-street and off-street locations.

Carmen Donnell, Managing Director, NA at PayByPhone, says, “As one of America’s top 100 urban destinations for its vibrant culture and year-round sunshine, the City of Tampa draws locals and visitors to its famed beaches and world-class attractions. And thanks to our multilingual app, available in 12 languages, we support each driver’s parking journey. Our partnership with the City of Tampa provides PayByPhone users the opportunity to enjoy the simplicity of cashless parking payments, completed in three quick steps. Drivers can opt-in to have text message reminders of when their parking session is about to expire to avoid costly citations.”

The app also offers drivers the ability to extend their parking session remotely via the app or a wearable device such as the Apple Watch, without having to return to their vehicle. Drivers can begin a parking session without registering for an account, making it ideal for those who are pressed for time.

Donnell concludes, “The parking landscape is continuously evolving, and the City of Tampa is at the forefront of technology. We are ready to deliver an unparalleled parking experience to its community and support the City’s vision. We have achieved phenomenal adoption of our service in many cities, for example reaching 94% adoption of our service with the Miami Parking Authority. We look forward to working with the City of Tampa to achieve similar success. We encourage drivers to download the PayByPhone app now, so they can use the new service immediately.”
